Girish joined Spirit Energy's Executive Committee in June 2022 and has been with company since June 2013.

Girish’s main focus areas for Spirit Energy is to ensure business strategic priorities are achieved through organic growth (infill wells) and safe and sustainable operations, with a longer term future for energy transition opportunities.

Girish has over two decades of experience in Upstream Oil & Gas & LNG businesses working for variety of operating companies including Spirit Energy, Centrica, BG Group and Shell. He has worked in multiple geographies including Australia, India, Malaysia, Middle East, The Netherlands and the UK, holding various management and leadership positions in operations and capital projects. He has experience in the full lifecycle oil & gas asset management, from opportunity through to decommissioning. 

In his previous role as the North Sea & Netherlands Assets Director for Spirit Energy, Girish was responsible for all asset management activities for North Sea and The Netherlands operated and non-operated assets which includes a mix of fully manned platforms, NUIs, NPAIs and subsea tie-backs. From 2016 to 2018, Girish was the Decommissioning Director at Spirit Energy, during which time he successfully published decommissioning strategy and established decommissioning business unit. He has managed complex operations and project programs and built various high performing teams.

Girish has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Twente, The Netherlands and an MBA from QUT Brisbane, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a Fellow of Association of Project Management. He is also member of the leadership team of Step Change in Safety and an operator co-chair for Southern North Sea Gas sector council for East of England Energy Group.

Girish received the Mentor of the year award from Oil & Gas UK in 2016 for his commitment to developing the future pipeline of talent for the industry. He enjoys creative endeavours and innovative thinking that can shape the future of the industry.
